National Ordinance Ombudsman now available in a book

The National Ordinance Ombudsman has been included for the first time in the latest edition of the Legislative Compilation of Aruban Constitutional and Administrative Law, marking an important step toward improving access to legislation and strengthening knowledge of Aruba’s constitutional and administrative legal framework.

During a special ceremony at the University of Aruba, Ombudsman Ms. Jurima Bryson, LL.M., received the first copy of the new edition. For Ms. Bryson, it was an honor to receive the first copy of the publication from its authors, Ms. Brechtje Huiskens, LL.M., and Ms. Hannah Meijer, LL.M.

The inclusion of the National Ordinance Ombudsman is considered a significant milestone, as this confirms its place in Aruba’s constitutional and administrative law framework. According to Ms. Bryson, the development will also help make the law more accessible to students, legal professionals, researchers and the wider public.

During the ceremony, the Ombudsman was accompanied by the staff of the University of Aruba and by students. Following the official presentation, participants took part in a legal quiz organized by the University of Aruba, creating an engaging environment where legal theory and practice came together.

Ms. Bryson expressed her appreciation to the University of Aruba for the initiative and thanked the authors for their contribution to promoting knowledge of Aruban constitutional and administrative law.
